2019 Woman of the Year - Audrey Selden

Audrey Selden Audrey is an excellent example of what commitment to community service looks like. Audrey has served more than 20 years in public service before retiring as a State Government executive. Audrey received her BA and MPA from Michigan State and her JD from Harvard University. She served as Texas Assistant Secretary of State from 1991 to 1994. As a college-level instructor, Audrey taught political science, sociological theory, and introduction to statistics and policy analysis. Audrey was the recipient of the 2010 YWCA Woman of the Year Award for Racial Justice, 2001 Austin Ballet Women On Their Toes Award for outstanding volunteer service, 1997 Ma Ferguson Award for Excellence in Public Sector, a National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity speaker, board member for the Foundation for Women Resources and 2nd Senior Associate Commissioner for Consumer Protection at Texas Department of Insurance. Audrey is a former board chair for Leadership Women, Inc., a graduate of Leadership Texas and Leadership America. Audrey currently holds the position of President-Elect for the 2019 board for Executive Women In Texas Government.
