Thank you 2014 Sponsors!

Quarterly Scholarships

EWTG scholarships are awarded on a quarterly basis to those wanting an opportunity for professional advancement or personal growth. All interested members are encouraged to apply; financial need is not a factor. Take a moment to treat yourself to a course you have been putting off or a conference you would love to attend.

Guidelines for qualifying for a scholarship and applications are available on the EWTG website at ewtg.org. Email your 2015 first quarter application to the Scholarship Committee by 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2015.

EWTG Board Meetings

The EWTG Board holds its monthly meetings at the Carver Library in Austin on the third Wednesday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The agenda for each meeting will be posted on EWTG's website by noon on the Monday before the meeting.

A summary of the board meeting minutes is also posted on the website.

Committee Volunteers Needed

Please look over the Committee Descriptions on the EWTG website and consider becoming more active in the organization.

Participating on a committee is a great way to support EWTG, learn new skills and to meet other interesting executive women. As with so many things, "the more you give, the more you get."

August 2015

President's Corner

The dog days of summer are upon us, and the living is easy…unless you’re on the EWTG board or our many committees, that is!  While Karen Howard and the Conference Program Committee have been selecting presenters for you this fall, the board has continued planning for the November conference, finishing the new webpage design, having our usual monthly mini-courses and luncheons AND busy planning several EWTG social events.

In August, membership director Deborah Shaw-Boatner and the Membership Committee will be sponsoring a free-for-members networking event at Design for Consignment, a furniture consignment store in North Austin.  We have invited board members of Texas Women in Business (TWIB) to join us, as several EWTG members belong to TWIB, too.  And if you work and/or live in North Austin, this is your chance to join us for a glass of wine and finger foods.  So come!

In September, president-elect Jennifer Dormer and her committee will have our Executive Success Team Kick-Off.  This is your chance to be matched with EWTG ladies who have a variety of experiences, ages and backgrounds, to offer you another opportunity to be and have a mentor.  An EST’s cardinal rule is that everything said among EST members is confidential, since a mentor/mentee relationship is founded on honesty and trust.  Violators will be strung up by their toes…by me!

As if that isn’t enough, in late September, Deborah and the Membership Committee will be at it again with the almost-annual Capital Cruise on Lady Bird Lake.  The cruise is always a fun time, and if all goes well, the famous Austin bats (and likely, several other Austin, um, characters) will put on their stunning “keep Austin weird” evening display.

So mark your calendars and stay cool, my friends!

2015 EWTG President
