2004 Woman of the Year

EWTG proudly announced Carol Willis as its 2004 Woman of the Year at the 18th Annual Professional Development Conference, which was attended by over 560 participants.

Carol Willis is employed by the Region Xlll Education Service Center in Austin as a Manager with the Texas Education Telecommunication Network. Carol, a 16 year EWTG member, is a Past President of the EWTG Board and has served on numerous committees.

Carol initiated the EWTG minicourses that cover the legislative process, budgeting, policy development, communications and personal development. Over 1500 women have obtained specific knowledge to succeed in executive positions through these minicourses.

Carol inaugurated EWTG's successful mentoring program which grew into Executive Success Teams. These teams provide peer group mentoring through exploration of solutions to professional women's issues in state govemment and higher education.

Ms. Willis'community involvement includes the Austin Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Friends of Christopher, a supporting guild to the Travis County Children's Advocacy Center, the Austin Junior Forum, and Leadership Texas Alumnae Association.

Ms. Willis received her Bachelor of Arbs from Texas Tech University and her Master of Science from Texas A&M University.
