2005 Woman of the Year

EWTG proudly announced Joelyn Weeks as its 2005 Woman of the year at the 19th Annual Professional Development Conference.

Joelyn Weeks, a past President of EWTG (1999), has served the organization in many capacities. As 1995 Program Director, she implemented the successful minicourse training program and as 1998 President-Elect, she helped implement the stellar Executive Success Team mentoring program and currently serves as a team facilitator. In 2001 she was named EWTG Volunteer of the Year, a unique award created for Joelyn to recognize the woman who never said "no" when asked to take on any project to benefit EWTG. she also has chaired the Scholarship and Nominations Committees, actively served on numerous other committees and served as 2005 Conference Program Co-Chair.

The award also recognizes Joelyn's giving nature, especially to elderly friends and loved ones. In 1999 while serving as EWTG president, Joelyn worked full time in Austin, attended graduate school, and cared full-time for her disabled grandmother, who lived in Lufkin.  The award lauds Joelyn's graduation from Leadership Texas in 1997 and the completion of both her bachelor's and master's degrees while working full time. Joelyn has worked for the State of Texas for over 26 years.
