President,  Jennifer Dormer

Jennifer Dormer is a Manager in the Accounting Systems Unit with the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).  In this role, her unit supports the Accounting Department. Before that she was a Business Analyst and Team Lead for DADS.  She began her career in state government in 1996 working at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

She has been an active member of EWTG since 2009 and has served as the Evaluation Conference Committee Chair in 2009, Board Treasurer in 2010, Board Finance Officer in 2011, the Resolutions Conference Committee Chair and Registration Committee member in 2012, Board Vice President/Conference Chair in 2013, Facility Conference Committee Chair in 2014, and Board President Elect in 2015.  Jennifer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from St. Edward’s University.

President-Elect, Clare Dyer

Clare Dyer is a Deputy Director with the Research Division of the Texas Legislative Council.  She graduated with a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Public Affairs from the L.B.J. School of Public Affairs.  She has worked on redistricting issues for the Texas Legislative Council since 1988 and was the Manager of the Mapping and Redistricting Section for the past 12 years.  Clare previously served on the EWTG Board as Treasurer, Financial Officer, and Communications Director.

Vice-President, Bobbe Walker

Bobbe Walker has been in state government for 23 years. She has worked in Family and Protective Services with foster care billing and children's income almost the entire length of her career.  Bobbe and her husband Cliff have four children between them. They have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, but all live outside the state of Texas.  Bobbe has been associated with EWTG for seven years. During that time she has been Program Chair, served on the Conference Registration Committee, chaired the Registration Committee two years, and is now the Vice President, in charge of the conference.  She credits her latest promotion from the confidence she has garnered while serving in the various EWTG volunteer positions.

Financial Officer, Katrina Burch

Katrina Burch is a 17 year veteran in state government with two years at the University of North Texas as an accountant in the Financial Reporting section working on the Annual Financial Report, 14 years at the Comptroller’s Office as an Appropriation Control Officer in the Fiscal Management Division costing the state budget for seven legislative sessions and one year at The Teacher Retirement System of Texas as a Senior Financial Accountant in the Financial Reporting section helping with an agency-wide system upgrade and the agency Consolidated Annual Financial Report.

Katrina is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a BS-Accounting.  She has been a EWTG member since 2009 and served as the Silent Auction chair for 2012 as well as on the Silent Auction committee in 2011 and 2014.  Katrina has been on the Membership committee twice and the Communications committee.  She also has helped with the Executive Success Committee program.

Secretary-Treasurer, Terri Peirce

Terri currently serves the State of Texas as a Judicial Information Data Analyst at the Office of Court Administration. Her current duties include supporting the newly formed Timothy Cole Exoneration Review Commission studying cases involving individuals who were wrongfully convicted.  She previously worked at the Department of Information Resources where she served for a short time as their Customer Information Coordinator.  Additional state service includes: the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Licensing and Regulation.  She has 15 years’ experience working for law firms collecting defaulted student loans and court fees and fines.  She graduated from St Edwards University with a BA in Management.

Communications Director, Cheryl Taylor

Cheryl Taylor is employed by the Department of State Health Services, in the Information Technology (IT) section. She has been with the agency for over 20 years where she has worked in several IT positions. Cheryl enjoys assisting her customers and offering IT solutions that makes a difference in the life of Texans.

Cheryl has been a member of EWTG for seven years. She has served on varies committees during this time. Cheryl feels she has learned something from each committee that could be applied to other areas of her life in general. She enjoys learning new techniques and concepts. She welcomes the challenges of working as the Communication Chair and the learning opportunities that comes with the position. In her spare time Cheryl volunteers at her church in the Media Department. She also love working with the elders. She has a passion for poetry. She likes writing poetry and plays in her free time.

Public Relations Director, Amy Redmond

Amy Claire Redmond serves as the Director of Development at Texas PBS. She directs the association’s statewide underwriting service and efforts to work more closely with state government. Amy has over fourteen years of experience in local, regional and international marketing in private and public sectors.

Prior to Texas PBS, Amy traveled across the state of Texas building relationships with city and county officials and helping people find their missing money as an Unclaimed Property Marketing & Outreach Specialist at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Office. During this time she was also responsible for administering the program’s annual advertising, public relations and event campaigns. She excels at media negation per her previous nine years of marketing sales experience at Andrew Harper, Inc., The Austin-American Statesman, and Texas State Student Publications. Before moving to Texas to earn a Masters in Art in Mass Communication at Texas State University – San Marcos she started her professional career at KADN FOX 15 working in both the Sales and Marketing Departments. During her time her she helped coordinate the first three-day FOX 15 Kids Fest and produce the weekly FOX 15 Kids Club Show, which was the beginning of her interest in fostering youth development and education.

Amy has continued her education through completion of leadership training at the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M – College Station and the Continuing & Innovation Education Program at University of Texas – Austin. Amy has been a member of Executive Women in Texas Government since 2011.

Affiliates Director, Grace Nobles

Grace M. Nobles is currently the Budget Analyst for the Unclaimed Property Division at the Comptroller of Public Accounts. During her 24 years of state government she has worked at various state agencies before joining Comptroller’s Office in 1992. She has been an active EWTG member since 2009. Grace has served on the EWTG board of directors as Mini Course Director in 2013. She served as Chair of the Programs Committee in 2010 and 2011 and a member of Silent Auction Committee in 2008.

Mini-Course Director, Barbara Chavis

Barbara Chavis is a results-oriented, high-energy, hands-on professional, with a successful record of accomplishments in directing the operations of organizations in public and private sector. She has been employed with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for over 23 years. She is currently an Area Manager over Taxpayer Services, Tax Policy Division and oversees the tax information call center.  During her 23 years she has also worked in the Tax Policy, Enforcement and Revenue Administration Divisions. Barbara has a versatile career which includes Assistant Director of Customer Service and Quality Assurance with Capital Transit Authority, Director of Franchise Communications with Schlotzsky’s, Inc. and Director of Operations for Executive Office Centers, Inc. She is a professional trainer and speaker and has received numerous leadership and customer service awards; “Waterford Crystal Award” for Outstanding EOC Annual Managers Meeting, Capital Metro Outstanding Performance Award, Excellence In Leadership Award, and Excellence In Customer Service Award. She has also served as the Treasurer of Black American Comptroller Employees (BACE), Vice President of the local Chapter of Blacks In Government (BIG), and Treasurer of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES).

Barbara has been a member of EWTG since 1999 and an active volunteer serving on the EWTG Program Committee for 7 years and the Mini Course Committee for 4 years.

Program Director, Karen Howard

Karen Howard has been employed with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Office for 32 years. She is a Program Supervisor V in the Revenue Processing Division and is also responsible for the receipt and initial processing of all state tax returns and fees. Her responsibilities include; editing, imaging, verification, data capture and deposit of all accompanying revenue.  In addition, she serves on several panels and committees.

A few of her accomplishments include;  Special Events Coordinator for the Revenue Processing Division and Vice President and Secretary of Black American Comptroller Employees (BACE). She earned the title of “Certified Trainer” for her diligent work in developing training manuals and facilitating training classes for Revenue Processing and Revenue Administration. Karen also is the Electronic Content Management System (ECMS) Transition Team Chair. Karen started her tenure with EWTG as a volunteer on the Conference Program Committee. She enjoyed being a volunteer; and shortly thereafter became the Conference Program Committee Chair. She has currently held that position for 4 years. In an effort to further expand her knowledge and networking skills, she accepted the position of  Mini Course Director in 2015.  Karen currently serves on the 2016 EWTG Board as Program Director and selects the speakers for the EWTG monthly luncheons. Congratulations are due to Karen for being selected to participate in 2016 Leadership Texas Program which begins March 2016.

Membership Director, Dokpe Ogunsanya

Dokpe Lillian Ogunsanya is the CEO of Dupsy Enterprises, a Consulting and Publishing Corporation where she plans and directs all functions of the company, implementing effective leadership skills to ensure efficient utilization of corporate resources. She is an energetic and captivating Motivational Speaker, Certified Executive & Professional Coach, gifted Life Coach, noted Author, Publisher, and Entrepreneur. S Graduated with honors-Beta Gamma Sigma and Magna Cum Laude, she earned two Master's degrees: Masters of Science in Management and Administrative Sciences (Organization Behavior and Coaching), and Masters in Public Administration (MPA). She is a University of Texas graduate of the Accredited Coaching Training Program (ACTP) and a Leadership Texas (2015) alumnus. She also earned two undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Mass Communications and continues her quest for education towards a doctoral degree. She was gainfully employed in the private and public sectors. She currently serves as the Program Director on the Executive Women In Texas Government (EWTG) board. She has written several articles and authored two books including "Life Lessons “Your Destiny Is In Your Own Hands. She was featured in the Austin American Statesman, Television and has received several awards, nominations and accolades. Dokpe is full of positive energy, extremely optimist and believes EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE - She is an unstoppable extra-ordinary woman that inspires so many!
