Looking for something to do while you’re busy socially distancing?
Want to continue to interact with your peers and feed your brain?

EWTG has you covered! The April Mini-Course will be an opportunity for you to practice your virtual skills – all while learning some tips for teleworking, from both the employers’ and the employees' point of view!

The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) has been using telework for a number of years to increase the effectiveness of a staff that operates all over Texas, filling the critical mission of “promote(ing) safe and healthy families and protect(ing) children and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.”

Poscha Roney, Community Outreach Specialist for Statewide Intake (SWI) at DFPS, will discuss how the agency has used teleworking to operate a 24/7/365 call center efficiently and effectively. Porscha will provide some information on Statewide Intake in general and the address how leadership and staff have worked to integrate telework into their operations. She will provide some lessons learned along with some tips for ensuring the best possible telework experience for staff, supervisors and, most importantly, the community they serve.

The Mini-Course is scheduled from 12:00 – 1:00 pm on April 8, 2020 and will also be recorded to be accessed at a later date. More details on how to connect will be provided after registering via email.
